Nielsen--what I think

Here are the Nielsen top 20 for the past week. Here's what I think of them... what do you think???

1. CSI (CBS) Have never missed an episode, glad to see Sarah going!

2. Dancing with the Stars - Mon (ABC) At number 2 in the ratings I should be less humiliated that I can't miss this show! I am rooting for that little Cheeta Girl...she's a spitfire!

3. Grey's Anatomy (ABC) I hear some bloggers and critics complaining about this season. I have found it as good as always. p.s. The latest Entertainment Weekly has about 3000 hot pictures of Patrick Dempsey this week!

4. Desperate Housewives (ABC) How can you NOT love Dana?? D.H. is back in top form! I think Michael Bolton might be the only one who will ever love Eddie!

5. House (FOX) Love it!

6. 60 Minutes (CBS) this show is still on? (tick tick tick) Who's watching?

7. Dancing with the Stars - Tues (ABC) Oh for Pete's sake, look up the looser on line! Really re-cap shows are such a waste of time!

8. NCIS (CBS) Don't watch

9. Criminal Minds (CBS) This is a top notch show, I have enjoyed it from the beginning! I'm going to miss Mandy!

10. CSI: Miami (CBS) Camp Camp Camp!! This week's Speedle is alive story sucked.

11. Survivor (CBS) Is it just me or is this season kinda craptastic?? I should just start watching this show after the merge... Then I don't have to get to all of these people!

12. Cold Case (CBS) Don't watch

13. Without A Trace (CBS)Don't watch

14. CSI: NY (CBS)Don't watch

15. Two and a Half Men (CBS)Don't watch

16. Deal Or No Deal - Weds (NBC)Don't watch

17. Brothers & Sisters (ABC) I have loved this show since the very first minute! How bummed were all of you that Justin to the narcotics?

18. Private Practice (ABC)I am surprised that after 3 weeks this show is still in the top 20! It does not have the Grey's magic!!

19. Law and Order: SVU (NBC) Don't watch

20. Extreme Makeover (ABC) Don't watch... really the theme rooms piss the hell outta me. Sure a Barbie Princess Bubble Butterfly Bubble Gum room is great for a 7 year old, and I am sure she will still LOVE it when she is 14!

What have you dropped? Regrets?

If you are like me... you watch to much TV. I have had to drop a show here and there. My first DVR delete was CBS's Kid Nation. I watched the first 2 and I have to say I couldn't stand it! One of the kids reminded me of a kid that goes to the same school my children do. Guess what, I can't stand this kid and therefor I hated the Kid Nation Kid. Not fair but that's what happens. Other than actually hating a child for little reason I didn't like the way the show was set up. So Kid Nation is off my radar, I did read the TV Squad review last week... you know just to make sure no one died out there in the Nevada wilderness.

Any regrets this new season? My husband thinks we should have been watching Back to You and has added it to the TiVo. I hate starting a new show after you miss episodes. the last time I did that was Friends! We'll see if I keep watching.

The more I see the previews I think I should have been watching Big Shots. But Thursday night TV is already FULL.

The only other show I have thought about dropping is Fox's K-Ville. But I keep tuning in and it has gotten better.

SNL Digital Short

I am not ashamed to say I still do love SNL. I watch it on DVR so I can FF parts I don't find funny. It doesn't bother me that each and every skit doesn't make me pee my pants with laughter!
But now I have an assignment for you my fellow readers (All 2 of you) Please watch the digital short and tell me if you think it was funny. In my house it's 2 for funny and 1 for not funny.
So watch this and let me know what you think!

Friday tv

Womans Murder Club-- What did you think? I really loved it! Great cast, great story, really good glimpse into the lives, secrets, problems and troubles of the main cast. I do love James Patterson and have read many of his books including the first 4 or 5 woman's murder club books. I hope he does as well with this show as Kathy Reichs has done with Bones. My only worry about this show is the Friday night time slot. Maybe the TV world will come to realize there are middle aged woman out here who want to watch tv on Friday night. This isn't the old days... hell if a show is good the 18 demographic will TiVo it and watch it after they get back from the bar! :)

I am also excited to see Men In Trees back on the air. (ER had a very funny line this week. Abby asked where Jerry was, she was told he took off to Alaska to serve drinks) This certainly wasn't the best episode but you have to remember ABC took it off the air before the first season had aired all the episodes. Not sure how many shows we will see this season that were meant to be shown last year. I just can't wait to get to the shows where Lynn is gone!!

What do you think of Tom Selleck on Vegas? I have to say I don't miss James Cann like I thought I would.Cooper is a great character and will probably be a fine asset to the show. Oh and I don't miss Mary's giant CANS getting flashed in my face every 5 seconds!

Here's to Friday TV and the people who do stay home to watch it. We deserve good shows and I hope the 3 I have mentioned here stay on the air!

Oh wait.. one more -- Moonlight. Oh man is is campy and the acting isn't the greatest. But that main Vampire is cute as a bug ear! It's worth watching just for him!

Did you eat the shit sandwich?

Maybe it's my love and adoration for Fred Goss but I am SO mad that Carpoolers was stuck with a lead in like Cavemen. I am wishing and praying that Carpoolers does well, I can't get enough of Fred, he is so funny. ABC gave him the shaft when they canceled Son's & Daughter's. I sure hope they are going to give Carpoolers another chance after no one tunes into Caveman.

So yeah I ate the shit sandwich and sat through most of Cavemen. It was so God Awful!! It is certainly my pick for the first new show that gets canned. But the afore mentioned sandwich might not have kept people at the table for the nice desert that Carpoolers was.

Now I didn't think Carpoolers was the greatest show but there is potential there. Fred's character is very funny. The black guy with the 4 , 6 or 8 kids is great. We'll have to see about the newbie in their carpool. The one thing I don't like is the Dentist. Jerry plays him well. there is just something really creepy about a doctor (well dentist) who can't get his own life together. I am looking forward to seeing where this goes.

ABC Soaps

Well if you're here you get to read my thoughts on what's going on these days on my favorite soaps.

All My Children-- Yes it has children in the name... but give me a break! Does every story have to be about a sick child, a child in danger, a sick child in danger...etc? Emma is off with her crazy uncle, Spike (yep a kid named Spike) has lost his hearing. Ethan is fighting for his life after being born 3 months early. All those children aside.... who thought it was a good idea to give Lilly a look-a-like sister?? The actress does a fantastic job playing Lilly, an autistic young adult. However when she puts on her Ava wear and sluts around crying about how bad she has it I could puke!! Ava is GOD AWFUL... beat it!

One Life To Live-- I am fast forwarding less and less, which means that the stories are getting a little bit more interesting. Love the heart break of Tommy's custody battle.

General Hospital-- Mob war 2,453 is getting started! A lot of fans complain about it... not me, I think it's great. It's going to be that much better when Luke rolls back into town. How many of you are certain that Spenelli is Kate & Sonny's son? Spenelli is great, love when he's on. I am even really like the exploration of an old romance renewed with Kate and Sonny. I think the writers have a chance to make something great with these two. I do wish they would get something done with Anna, Luke, Scotty, Bobby, Sky, Robert, Noah... the old school. The people that made us fall in love with this soap. Right now they are not there enough.

If you're a fan let me know what you think. Do you agree?

Read what I read

While I'm not watching tv I am reading other blogs about tv. There are none I totally agree with. I guess that's why I started my own. But if you wanna check out the blogs I love to read here you go...

http://www.tvdeuce.com/ Clint doesn't post more than a couple times a week but his posts are always funny and worth a read!

http://www.tvsquad.com/ Many posts by many bloggers. Lots of reviews A great read.

http://www.zap2it.com/ My first tv blog. I like the What to watch section and read TV Gal's blog weekly.

http://blogs.usatoday.com/popcandy/ Less about tv and more about pop culture.

What I watch.. yep I'm addicted!

Last week when the Entertainment weekly came I got my clip board and made my yearly tv watching schedule. Now just so you understand what kind of serious tv watcher I am… we have a DVR capable of recording 2 shows and a TiVo which will record a third during the same time slot if need be.

Desperate Housewives-- Have never missed an episode. While critics will tell you the last season was a let down I disagree. I am looking forward to this season. I LOVE Dena Delany, from way back in the China Beach years.

Brothers & Sisters-- Love this show. It's like a version of my crazy family. It's just they live in nice houses and have LOTS more money!

Shark-- Can take or leave this show. It sits in the DRV until I chip away at everything else and it's the only thing left. I do like lawyer shows and this is usually one of the better ones.

Dexter-- If you have one choice you have to order Showtime and illegally download Big Love on HBO. Dexter is an great show! With Showtime you also get Weeds & Californication.

Simpsons-- this one is more for my husband and kids, but after all these years I do still laugh out loud.

Family Guy-- Much like The Simpsons this one is for my hubby. I fell asleep during the Star Wars episode last week.

CSI Miami-- Never miss. I love Horashio Cane, his looks, his sunglasses, hands on his hips... he so over the top campy. It's like a bloody soap opera.

K-Ville-- The first episode did nothing for me, I always give new shows 3 records. The second episode was better and the third is in the can. I'll get back to you on if this new show stays in my schedule.

Journeyman-- Loved the first Episode! The main actor was in the HBO short lived series Rome and he was great in that so I knew I would like Journeyman.

Chuck-- Loved the first Episode! This is the first new show of the season that my husband and 13 year old son will all watch together.

I am getting sucked into Dancing with the Stars, Damn it! That little Cheeta Girl might win it all!

Carpoolers -- Because Fred Goss and Sons & Daughters was a BRILLIANT Show, but I am worried about this show being it’s lead in is Cavemen!!

Boston Legal--I came along with Alan when he left "The Practice" If you only need one reason to watch this show it's Denny Crane played by William Shatner. He is over the top funny!

The Unit-- I find myself wishing the missions weren't so in depth and filled with top secret missions. I love the family aspect of the show.

Bones-- I have read every one of Kathy Reichs books. I think they are much better then the show but I do look forward to it each week.

House-- I love House for all the reasons that all other people do. Hugh Laurie is the best!

Nip Tuck-- Soap, over the top, hot guys, sexy stories... need I say more?

Pushing Daisies--Loved the first Episode

Private Practice--Not as good as Grey's but I gotta watch

Dirty Sexy Money-- May be my new favorite of the 07 season

Criminal Minds-- Am I going to keep watching after Mandy leaves? We'll see.

Life--Loved the first Episode

Bionic Woman-- Critics are loving this one, I liked it... it has to get better to keep me tuning in.

Ugly Betty-- This show is simply brilliant!

Grey’s-- E.R. Junior as my husband calls it

All of prime time NBC! Don't come in here are tell me how great "The Office" is. I know.. I have watched every episode (including the British version) I like Earl and Scrubs. It's probably the most fun night on tv.

Survivor China-- Not sure this is going to be a great season. I haven't found a cast member I can really like yet.

CSI-- Am I the only one who was rooting for Sarah to be dead?

General Hospital Night Shift (SoapNet) This show actually blows! I can't believe I am still watching it. Thank God it ends next week. My loyalty to ABC soaps runs far to deep!

Numb3ers-- Not the greatest procedural out there but it's one my son and I watch together. It's important to find things a teenager actually wants to do with his mother. Besides that little math wizz is dreamy!

Las Vegas--Loyalty to ABC soaps got me watching this one. Again it's so over the top and campy I can't turn away. I look forward to tuning in and seeing Tom Sellick!

Friday Night Lights (For my 13 yr old son)

Men in Trees--Fun Friday night show

Woman’s Murder Club (I’m a big James Patterson fan)

SNL & Mad TV get DVR records

I will also watch Medium and Lost when they start early next year.

Daily– TiVo records Oberman on MSNBC at 8 (If nothing else is getting recorded. We also record and watch The Daily Show & The Colbert Report Mon - Thurs.

Did you think I was done… Oh NO! My Tv addiction is much deeper than you thought. I also record and watch All My Children, One Life To Live & General Hospital each and every day. I have watched these shows since I was 5! Yes I remember Luke & Laura’s wedding! Now I don’t watch every minute of the 3 shows… I can get through all 3 hours in about an hour since I ff the stories that don’t interest me.

I freely admit I am a TV Addict, I make NO excuses for this. I am not 700 pounds, Richard Simmons has never come to my house to cut a hold in my wall to remove me in a horse trailer. I also have a part time job, work at my children’s school, read, knit and not to pat myself on the back I am a pretty good cook and baker. But in the end.. doing all these things that make me a good wife and mother I do make time for all this tv! I love it!
